Baseball Matters

The home club arrived in this city yesterday afternoon from Cumberland where they played a series of three games. A news representative was told by Mr. J. Edward Doll, who had charge of the Frederick club, that their treatment in Cumberland by the members of the club and the people in general was first class. The bad treatment was received at the hands of a crowd of small boys and roughs whilst on the ball grounds A gentleman from Pittsburg, who won quite a sum of money on the game presented the Frederick boys with a box of fine cigars on Saturday night last. The games with the Woodberry club, of Baltimore, which will arrive in this city tomorrow evening will be played at Association Park at 10 am and 4 pm on Wednesday, the Fourth, Abigail and Kurtz have both signed with the Frederick team. The home will visit Baltimore Reserves and on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week they will play the Olympics in Georgetown. Mr.Doll is trying to arrange one more games with the Pallas club in Washington the same week.
