Rich Mineral Discoveries.
April 19, 1889Galena, Ill., April 16—A new mineral ore has recently been discovered in several localities throughout Galena and Southern Wisconsin mining region, which is said to be rich in zinc metal and of far more value than the pure dry bone itself. At Dodgeville, Wis., the deposits are reported to be especially rich, and a great impetus has been given to the mining industry of that section thereby. The ore is of a light brownish color and yields eighty percent of zinc.
